Kitesurf can fly high for Fabre

- D8IB N@EJK8EC<P

ANDRE FABRE doesn’t send his horses over from France unless he believes they have a great chance of winning.

Persian King was a case in point at Newmarket last Saturday, so get stuck into KITESURF (2.40) at 5-1 each-way, in the Group One Qipco Fillies And Mares Stakes over a mile and half at Ascot on Champions Day.

The daughter of Dubawi came with a strong late surge to land the Group One Prix Vermeille over today’s trip at Longchamp in September and the veteran Chantilly trainer swerved the Arc de Triomphe with her to wait for these easier pickings.

Dreaded

Take the strong hint and hope Mickael Barzalona doesn’t mess it up.

Willie Mullins saddled the 1-2 in the Cesarewitch seven days ago, which bodes well for the chance of THOMAS HOBSON (1.25) in the Group Two Qipco Long Distance Cup over two miles.

This mud lover landed the Group Two Doncaster Cup last month a shade cosily and he showed his liking for the track when landing the two-and-a-half mile handicap at the royal meeting in June 2017.

With the dreaded seven horses taking part, a win-only wager is advised.

John Gosden’s CRACKSMAN (3.50) bolted up on soft ground when routing his rivals in last season’s Qipco Champion Stakes over 10 furlongs, so the even money on offer with the bookie chappies about the four-year-old repeating the trick looks an early Christmas present. The son of Frankel didn’t enjoy the fast surface when second over course and distance at the royal jamboree in June, so his brilliant trainer has not run him until he encounters his favoured easy surface.

He has been working the four-year-old at home in a pair of blinkers and the colt has been flying up the Newmarket gallops with all his old zest.

In the 20-runner Balmoral Handicap over the straight mile, hunt down a benevolent bookmaker who is paying

1-2-3-4-5 places and back MITCHUM SWAGGER

(4.30) each-way.

This six-year-old needed his first run for 189 days when sixth at Haydock at the end of September, having earlier finished third to Addeybb and Lord Glitters in the

20-runner Lincoln at Doncaster on soft ground in March, when he raced off a mark of 105.

Those two horses are now 18lb and 9lb higher in the ratings and both contest the Group One QEII Stakes on the card.

Mitchum Swagger was third behind Portage over course and distance in the

2016 Royal Hunt Cup off a mark of 108, so he looks well treated racing off a revised perch of 104.

Ralph Beckett’s mudlark is begging to be backed at around the 20-1 mark.
