Clarets fix a broken Hart

- DAVID PREECE

AFTER a couple of early tempestuous relationships, Joe Hart finally looks to have found a club to settle down with.

Burnley may not be as rich or attractive as Manchester City but Sean Dyche has breathed life into a career that was suddenly in arrest.

What life at Turf Moor has done is simplify Hart’s style, allowing him to concentrate on the basics of his game and it has brought a smile back to his face.

Second only behind Lukasz Fabianski in saves made, he has been less protected than he might have imagined.

He returns to his old club City today and The Etihad should see him busy once again.

There’s no point trying to encourage the punt on the 28-1 away win.

It just won’t happen. Or even a Burnley clean sheet at 25s.

A City win with an Ederson clean sheet to add to his other five so far is 11-8.

Historically, Burnley have been arduous opponents for City but this Clarets defence is more porous than usual this season.

Despite Burnley tightening up in the last three games, a fresh Kevin De Bruyne and an in-form Raheem Sterling could cause havoc. Over 3.5 goals is 4-6 and a Sterling double is 15-4.

Up in Newcastle, the fog on the Tyne has been replaced by an air of desperation as Rafa Benitez’s search for three points goes on.

He faces Brighton and former Magpies boss Chris Hughton today.

What you don’t need in this situation is an ex-Toon manager desperate to walk away from St James’ Park with something other than a compensation package.

The still popular but once untouchable Benitez has started to be asked whether his long-term future is affecting his side’s short-term prospects and those questions are not easily answered.

He can expect a tough afternoon and a point travelling back to Brighton in Hughton’s kitbag seems very possible.

This is a 0-0 for me with at 5-1 with two under-rated keepers in Martin Dubravka and Maty Ryan going home
