I Khan handle heat says struggling Slav

- By NICK SZCZEPANIK

FULHAM boss Slavisa Jokanovic insists he is not knocking on owner Shahid Khan’s door for reassurances about his future. But despite playing down suggestions his job is under threat he admits today’s game at Cardiff is between two teams who are desperate for points.

“I believe in myself and my staff and I believe in the players I’m working with,” said the Serbian (left). “At the end, the solution is in my head. I don’t have the time to think about these things or for crying about my situation.

“This is part of this profession and I must manage these kinds of situations, nothing more. There’s nothing tragic in my life.

“I am really satisfied in my life and with my job. I’m strong and brave enough to keep going and trust in myself and my players. I’m focused on my business and I don’t have the time to go and knock on a door and ask, ‘Do you support me or not?’.”

Both teams have struggled since winning promotion last season. Cardiff are bottom of the Premier League and will be desperate for a first victory of the season.

But Fulham are in 17th spot, have only one win to their name and their goals against record of 21 is the league’s worst. “We are desperate to win this game, too,” added Jokanovic.

“We consider it another great opportunity for us to fight for three points and I believe they will be thinking similar to us.

“They know how we play and we know how they play.

“We are going to make it tough for them. I don’t feel any extra pressure. They need the points, we need the points.”
