Pogba fired up for battle

- By JEREMY CROSS

PAUL POGBA admits taking on Chelsea is one of the games he came back to the Premier League for.

He aims to be the star of the show when Manchester United take on the Blues at Stamford Bridge today.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are unbeaten this season and are equal on points at the top with fellow pacesetters Manchester City and Liverpool.

United, meanwhile, have made one of their worst starts in Premier League history – despite beating Newcastle with a last-gasp winner last time out.

Their form has piled the pressure on Jose Mourinho, who knows his side will be the underdogs on his return to his former club.

Burden

Mourinho has not won at Stamford Bridge since taking charge of United in 2016, but Pogba says the burden on them to get a result is one that he relishes.

“For me, those games are the best games to play,’’ he said. “You play against the best players, you play against a big club, a big story.

“You play football to play those big games with a lot of pressure.

“This season Chelsea have a lot of possession, they are winning and they have one character you cannot miss in Eden Hazard.

“They say he is on fire, he is probably the best player in the Premier League right now.

“The team is going well, they have had good results. For us we came back in the Newcastle game, winning at home 3-2.

“We need points, so it’s going to be a tough one. I think they need points, we need points.

“The game is going to be very hard, we’re playing away. It’s a Chelsea versus Manchester United game, you know, so it’s a big one.”
