ANOTHER LOVELY CHUB-LEA
THE River Lea in Hertfordshire has delivered another great chub with an
8lb 1oz specimen.
Den Poole banked it using traditional mobile tactics which have earned him the nickname ‘The Wanderer’.
He carefully prebaited several swims but it wasn’t until light levels dropped that he cast a line.
The Essex decorator presented a link legered
10mm boilie, over a small bed of maggots and pellets, close to an overhanging willow tree.
And after 20 minutes his rod slammed round and he connected with the monster chevin – his second eight-pounder from the Lea.
EFFORTS to restore the Hampshire Avon as a top roach fishery looks to be paying off after a 3lb 2oz monster was landed.
After stocks plunged, the Avon Roach Project was launched to improve spawning habitats and restock fingerlings.
The three-pounder fell to Mark Everard, while trotting breadflake, on the Winkton Fishery.
A PERCH deadbait helped Andrew Stacey bag a personal best zander in the lower reaches of the Severn.
The stripey was presented at the bottom of the marginal shelf, with the bite coming in the early hours of the morning. CRACK match squad Drennan Barnsley Blacks will represent England in the World Club Float Championships.
