Harris wants VAR support
TIMM KLOSE dragged himself off his sick bed to repay the faith shown in him by boss Daniel Farke and fire Norwich into the play-off spots.
The Switzerland defender defied a virus to score twice in a game for the first time in his career.
The heat on international duty in Belgium followed by plunging temperatures in Iceland left the 30-yearold seriously out of sorts.
But he hid the problems to justify Farke’s determination not to let him join the club’s summer exodus.
Klose was on the verge of joining Hannover 96 to follow James Maddison and Josh Murphy through the Carrow Road exit.
“I was pretty close to a move,” said Klose.
“But I spoke with the gaffer and he convinced me I had a big part to play and this season could be something big for us.
“It’s a great feeling when you have someone that believes in you like that.”
Klose had been ill for two days leading up to the trip to the City Ground but added: “I was never going to miss the game. I always wanted to go and give the best I can.”
He certainly did that, heading in Moritz Leitner’s free-kick as Forest fell to pieces after a lightning start thanks to Lewis Grabban’s sixth goal in seven games.
Costel Pantilimon was left exposed and could only push away Jordan Rhodes’ header along his goalline for Klose to grab the winner.
Grabban finished from close range following Joao Carvalho’s clever pass but said: “We did not deserve anything from the game. We did not play with enough intensity, after such a good start.”
