LEWIS DUNK reckons his England call-up has taken his game to a new level.

The Brighton defender was brilliant in keeping Newcastle at bay as Albion got their first away win in the league at the 18th attempt.

Newcastle had 68 per cent possession, 27 shots and 10 corners, but Dunk and partner Shane Duffy were immense.

Dunk said: “That was probably my best performance of the season, to be fair.

“I’ve just got to keep putting performances in like that every weekend.

“Hopefully I can keep doing that until the end of the season and you never know, hopefully I’ll be in the next England squad.

Proudest

“Being in the squad last time was a great experience. It was the proudest moment I’ve had in football and hopefully there is more of it to come.

“Your confidence has got to be high because you’re with the national team. It’s England! One of the greatest nations in football.

“You’ve got to come away from that with confidence and you learn from the players you’re playing with there. It’s something I can use to my benefit.”

Dunk says Brighton can kick on, adding: “I wouldn’t say I enjoy being as busy as that but obviously that’s my job.

“I would rather have an easy game when you don’t have to do anything and the ball is up their end not our end.

“Me and the big man next to me will do it all day long if we have to.”
