hearing on Wednesday after bellowing a string of Portuguese swear words at a TV camera following his team’s win over Newcastle two weeks ago.

Ianni, who arrived at Chelsea with new manager Maurizio Sarri in the summer after working with the Italian at Napoli, was ordered to apologise to Mourinho for his actions.

He was spoken to by Sarri after the game, and again yesterday.

The club are understood to be furious with Ianni and he now faces the prospect of a club fine as well as an FA punishment.

Sarri has insisted that Chelsea’s fans, who taunted their former manager after the 2-2 draw with chants of “F**k off Mourinho”, should show the Portuguese more respect.

The Italian acted as a peacemaker after trouble flared at the end of the game and immediately spoke to Mourinho (above) to calm the situation.

He said: “Mourinho has won things here at Chelsea, so we need to respect him and everybody who has won a trophy for the club.”

As for the bust up, Sarri said: “After the match, I spoke with Jose so immediately I understood that we were in the wrong. I spoke with the young member of staff and we dealt immediately with the situation.

“I took the member of staff to Jose to say sorry. I think it’s finished but I want to be sure. We were wrong, we made a mistake.”

United looked set to win the game until Barkley struck in the sixth minute of injury time.

That prompted Ianni, who was sitting in the second row on the bench, to leap up and race into the United technical area to taunt Mourinho.
