‘Pest’ Green cosies up amid shop boycott calls
THIS picture of Sir Philip Green has emerged with his arm around a beautiful woman during a trip to Las Vegas.
The billionaire businessman chats to a pal in a Sin City casino in 2009 as he keeps the girl close at hand.
It comes as women were last night urged to boycott his stores.
It follows the outing of the tycoon for allegedly silencing sex harassment claims.
Singer songwriter Nerina Pallot, 44, called on women to hit Sir Philip “in the only place that would hurt him”.
She tweeted: “STOP BUYING STUFF FROM TOPSHOP.”
The musician, who has written songs for Kylie Minogue and was nominated for a BRIT Award, added: “He shows no regard for employees’ pensions either.
“Also, you don’t actually need those clothes, save your dosh.”
Sir Philip was named in the House of Lords by Peter Hain as the business mogul who obtained a court injunction to prevent publication of claims he had paid off five alleged sex and race harassment victims. In return it’s claimed they signed nondisclosure agreements preventing them revealing their alleged ordeals.
Sir Philip, 66, strongly denied the claims. He said: “To the extent that it is suggested that I have been guilty of unlawful sexual or racist behaviour I categorically and wholly deny these allegations.’’ But thousands posted messages calling for a boycott of all Sir Philip’s stores, which also include Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins.
Liberal Democrat leader Vince Cable said if the new allegations were correct Sir Philip “should certainly be stripped of his knighthood”.
Fellow MPs Frank Field and Jess Phillips backed the call. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: “You give knighthoods to those who have served our community and society. But I think just in the same way you reward good behaviour, I think you should punish bad behaviour.’’
