Celebrity Bake off takes off

SEXY Michelle Keegan and Caroline Flack may end up with soggy bottoms after signing up for a star-studded edition of The Great British Bake Off. And TV rottweiler Jeremy Paxman could have egg on his face as he is doing it too. A host of famous faces have agreed to step into the tent for a charity version of Bake Off as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer. Facing the judgments of Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be Big Brother co-host Rylan Clark-Neal, I’m A Celebrity winner Georgia Toffolo, comic Russell Brand, comedy actor Johnny Vegas, rapper Big Narstie and former Corrie actress Sally Lindsay.
Also on board are 3rd Rock From The Sun actor John Lithgow, The Crown’s Greg Wise, 8 Out Of 10 Cats comic Jon Richardson, Doctor Who star Russell Tovey, Labour MP Jess Phillips, comic James Acaster, Olympic boxer Nicola Adams, track and field athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Paralympian wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft, stand-up and TV comedian Joe Wilkinson and Channel 4 journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
Channel 4 claim it will be “a Bake Off like no other”.
Unique
The 20 celebrities have already filmed their baking stints for the show with hosts Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
But they are all sworn to secrecy about who got Star Baker and who won as the shows will not air until the spring of next year.
Channel 4 head of formats and features Sarah Lazenby said: “We have a brilliant line up of famous bakers – all of whom bring their unique skills to the infamous tent.
“Expect some great bakes, a dollop of disasters, and lots and lots of laughs.
“Stand Up To Cancer has become a force to be reckoned with in the fight against cancer.”
The last celebrity version of the show aired back in the spring and featured the likes of Alan Carr, Teri Hatcher, Lee Mack, Mel Sykes, Harry Hill and Stacey Solomon.
Channel 4’s cancer campaign has so far raised £38million
since it was launched in 2012.
