MY man never stops whining about our sex life – in public.

Any time we’re out with friends or family, he makes a number of “jokes” about how frigid and boring I am.

And if we’re out for a meal, the more he has to drink, the worse he gets.

Of course he has his audience in stitches. They love to hear how I spurn sex toys, wear my frumpy pyjamas and pretend to play dead in bed (all untrue, actually). They lap up his stories of me pushing him away with “yet another” headache.

The problem is that none of his tales are true. If anything, I’m the one who begs him for action.

I’m the one who organises the early nights and buys him the fluffy handcuffs. When it’s just him and me he’s never once moaned about my lack of imagination.

When I complain that he insults me in public, he insists that he’s just having a laugh and that I shouldn’t keep taking him so seriously. But why even utter this tripe, especially when it’s not true? JANE SAYS: Your man sounds like a backstabbing moron.

Where is his loyalty or his respect? Every time he opens his gob he lets himself down and embarrasses you.

He’s clearly a massive show-off who will do anything to score a cheap laugh.

Stop letting him get away with this. How dare he ridicule you? Nothing gives him the right to discuss your private life – good or bad – with anyone else.

You’re not his comedy partner; you’re his loving equal. He has to hear that you won’t put up with any more of his wisecracks because they’re insulting and unfair.

I get the impression that he doesn’t realise how lucky and privileged he is.

This is not about you having a sense of humour failure; it’s about him not knowing how to behave in public. That has to change if you’re to stay together.

?? ?? Yes, don’t wait up for me But it’s your day off! Wherever have you been? It’s nearly midnight! Work… I told you I don’t believe it Is she cheating on me? Now what’s her log in… that’s it… Odd, she’s nowhere near her office Don’t lie… I tracked you to the other side of town How dare you snoop on me… I had to help out on a call-out… check with my boss if you don’t believe me
