Johnny has lot mortar rock fans

RAPPER Iggy Azalea is “officially unsigned” after parting ways with Island Records after just nine months. She tweeted: “Now I’m free to release whatever kinda music I like, whenever I’d like woooo!”

JOHNNY Borrell is reforming Razorlight because he was so bored he began working on building sites.

He was famous for his hardpartying ways, but he was burned out after their 2008 album Slipway Fires.

Johnny, 38, now lives in a village in the Basque region of Spain and told me: “When our drummer Scully phoned to tell me he’d found a new guitarist I should try working with, I was on a building site, mixing cement with a stonemason. When I’m not working on music, I really like doing real-life stuff.

“People in the village know what I do, but they don’t care – people pop round to me if they need their motorbike fixed. That’s what I’m useful for to them!”

Razorlight’s comeback began when Johnny met new guitarist Dave Ellis last year, resulting in return-to-form album Olympus Sleeping, released this week.

Johnny said: “For three years, my record company wouldn’t release anything I did. That was a real body blow. In the end, I just said: ‘F*** this’, and walked away. “But I always thought I’d pick up Razorlight again at some point. “Making this record has reminded me how much fun rock music can be.”

It’s also made Johnny remember his rise to fame, which saw him date

Movie legend also told him: “Mr Borrell – a man after my own heart.”

And Johnny said: “Him saying that was the greatest thing I’ve heard in my life.”
