STAB RISK ON SCHOOL RUN

CHILDREN are most at risk of being stabbed on their way home from school as police struggle to deal with teen gang knifings.

Drill rapper JaySav, 16, became the fifth person to be knifed to death in London in just six days and the 122nd murdered in the city this year.

A study showed stabbings spike between 4pm and 6pm on school days. Nearly half the knife injuries among youngsters happened between one and three miles from home.

Researcher­s said that given their findings, published in the British Medical Journal, police should consider having a visible presence in areas children congregate after school.

JaySav, whose real name is John, was found with multiple stab wounds in the street in Tulse Hill, south London, following reports of gunfire at 10.50pm on Monday.

Police said a murder investigat­ion was under way.
