IT’S RYAN UN-FARE
Travellers face fee as website closes ENGINE HORROR
RYANAIR is forcing every passenger to pay £55 extra to check-in tomorrow night – because it is upgrading its website.
The budget airline’s customers can usually checkin online for free – but because the site is down for 12 hours, they will have to confirm their seats at the airport.
However, Ryanair is refusing to waive the £55 fee it charges passengers who wish to check-in at a desk – even though they have no choice.
Online and mobile phone app bookings and check-in with the budget airline will close from 5pm today.
Company bosses called the move necessary to upgrade Ryanair’s computer system and “sincerely apologised” to customers for the inconvenience.
Robin Kiely, head of communications, said: “Flight bookings and changes will also be unavailable during this period.
