Raya nose he had to return

GARRY MONK will hold showdown talks with his Birmingham players prior to their next match with bitter rivals Aston Villa.

The Blues have tossed away points in each of their last two matches thanks to dreadful second halves.

After a 3-1 defeat at Derby last week, Monk’s men were in control thanks to Che Adams’ brace against Hull.

But they then conceded three times thanks to two from Fraizer Campbell (inset) and one from Kamil Grosicki as the Tigers turned the screw before Adams completed his hat-trick to salvage a point.

And Monk is all too aware they cannot repeat their defensive mistakes in the Second City derby on November 25.

He said: “I know it’s only two games but that’s been two second-half performances where something has gone against us and we haven’t dealt with that in the right way.

“I know it’s only two games but if we are going to set the standard, two games is too many.

“That’s something for me to go through with the players in the international break, find out the reasons why that is and make sure we address that. “We will delve a little bit deeper into that with the players, get their view on that and put our view across as a staff and work on it and make sure it’s very clear how we deal with those type of moments better.”

Hull are still in the bottom three on goal difference but boss Nigel Adkins said: “We’ve again seen a group of players that is committed to each other and is working its socks off and that can take us a long way.”
