Top spot doesn’t sit well with Clee
NICKY CLEE had mixed feelings after seeing his Bradford Park Avenue side land top spot in National League North.
Oliver Crankshaw earned a point for Curzon Ashton when he cancelled out Jake Beesley’s opener, but Clee said: “It’s definitely two points dropped.
“We took the lead but conceded a goal with sloppy defending. But it’s tough to be disappointed, sitting on top of the league.’’
Chester were denied a place at the summit by Altrincham, who had two-goal Jordan Hulme to thank for their fourth win in a row.
Following the 2-1 win, Altrincham boss Phil Parkinson said: “We’re on a good little run at the moment but we know anybody can beat anybody else.’’ Bottom club Nuneaton picked up a surprise 1-1 draw with third-placed Kidderminster thanks to Cameron Belford’s heroics in the home goal.
Charles Elliott struck twice in the last five minutes to earn Wealdstone a 3-3 draw with National League South promotion rivals Bath City.
Bath hat-trick hero Ross Stearn said: “It was nice to get three goals but we were all thinking afterwards, ‘How didn’t we win that game?’.”
