The Rock: Doncaster is so Fast & Furious
A-lister loved the locals
HOLLYWOOD star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has fallen in love... with Doncaster.
The wrestling legend was filming Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw there.
He loved the Yorkshire folk he met, but confessed he was a bit baffled by the locals’ lingo.
Impressed
Dwayne said: “I love Doncaster, I love the people of Doncaster, I had a great time filming and hanging out.”
The 46-year-old added: “It was great working out at the gym.
“I couldn’t always understand the accent and what they are saying – but Doncaster you are good people!
“They were telling me about their soccer club Doncaster Rovers and that Louis (Tomlinson) is involved with them in a big way. I love soccer, so maybe next time I am in town he can take me to a game.”
The heart-throb caused a scene after dropping in to pump some iron at the town’s Global Fitness Gym.
Owner Craie Carrera said he was “talkative, a nice guy, really genuine, just like an everyday person”.
Bodybuilder Craie said: “A guy came in and asked if he could take a few pictures because someone famous was coming into the area. I said as long as he puts his weights away, it doesn’t matter who it is.”
Craie was impressed by The Rock’s physique, saying: “He towers over you, he’s about 6ft 6in.”
