WALKER’S ROAD

-

BREAKOUT star Tom Walker is planning a huge collab EP for next year.

The singer has been approached by many other artists following the success of his hit Leave A Light On.

But he originally turned them down to focus on his debut LP What A Time To Be Alive, out March 1.

However, Tom hopes he can release a collab-heavy collection later next year to show off his versatility.

Tom, who performed on X Factor last night, told me: “I have done bits and bobs with other people but I don’t really write for other artists.

“I’ve been approached by a few artists asking me to but, to be honest, I’ve been so focused on getting my own album out that I’ve been too busy.

“There will definitely be a few collaborations after the album, maybe I’m thinking a collaborations EP as I’ve missed out on that this time.”

Tom has managed to squeeze in some studio time with other artists, as he’s worked with good pals Rudimental, and Zara Larsson but he’s hungry for more – especially with fellow Scot Paolo Nutini. Tom said: “I‘d love to work with Paolo, but I don’t know what he’s doing to be honest as I’ve not seen any tours on his website recently or any shows.”

He may not have met Scottish songwriter royalty yet – but last week Tom did meet Prince William and Kate plus Prince Harry and Meghan as he performed at the annual Royal Foundation dinner. Tom described being at the event as an “absolute honour”.
