Mark’s happy to stop the rot

-

MARK BEEVERS is confident Bolton can turn the tide after they ended their goal drought.

The Trotters found the net after 378 minutes without a goal after the defender scored against his old club.

A late equaliser denied Bolton their first away win in three months, keeping them in the drop zone.

But Beevers remained upbeat ahead of facing another former side in Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

He said: “Tuesday is massive. The performances have been there and we’ve been creating chances. As long as we knuckle down and keep going, hopefully that will fall into place.

“It’s always nice to come back to your old stomping ground and get a goal. But the main thing is we’ve stopped the rot a little bit.”

The opener by Beevers was overshadowed by a double replacement of the officials. Original referee Tony Harrington pulled out before the game, before sub Lee Swabey pulled his calf.

Assistant Daniel Leach took charge, with Millwall fan Steve Perry running the line in the second half.

The hosts struck late on through sub Jiri Skalak, although it was a fine return for Millwall keeper Jordan Archer who had not started a game since August.

Archer said: “I’m confident in my ability and I knew once the chance came I had to take it.”
