Bonne ’n Brophy are O’s hotshots

- By GRAHAM NICKLESS

ORIENT boss Justin Edinburgh saluted his “B” strikeforce after they shot down title rivals Wrexham.

Two late goals from Macauley Bonne and James Brophy silenced the 6,428 Welsh crowd as the O’s went three points clear at the top.

Edinburgh called it a “huge performance” and added: “With the form we’re in, and the boys up front, we know if we get a chance, then we will dispatch it.”

Former England stopper Tim Flowers wasn’t prepared to defend Salford goalkeeper Christopher Neal after Adi Yussuf’s “goal” for Solihull Moors was ruled out for a foul on the No.1.

Moors boss Flowers said after the 0-0 draw: “With all respect, and bearing in mind I used to play in goal, if it breaks 50-50 between me and a striker I am expecting to take a hit. I thought it was a goal.”

Referee Joe Hull changed his mind after consulting his assistant and Salford boss Graham Alexander said: “It was a definite free-kick. My goalkeeper had possession, so it was a foul.”

Barrow ended their six-game losing run on the road, 2-0 at Aldershot, and manager Ian Evatt said: “Everyone is feeling positive about where this club is going.”

Sub Michael Woods marked his return to Harrogate from Hartlepool by scoring with the last kick of the game in the 3-1 victory over Braintree.

Dagenham moved out of the drop zone by beating Bromley 2-0 at Hayes Lane. Yesterday: Vanarama National League: Evo-Sik Southern Prem Central:
