HEREFORD has been named as the drink and drug-drive capital of Britain.
The city has 2.3 convictions for every 1,000 drivers.
A MoneySuperMarket poll found Hereford, which has the coat of arms, right, was by far the worst for bad drivers, its rate rising by 0.8 in the last year.
It was followed in the top 10 by Crewe on 1.86 per 1,000 and Blackpool on 1.68, while Sunderland dropped from first to fourth with 1.62 convictions.

Emma Garland, data scientist at MoneySuperMarket, said: “With Christmas parties, there is more chance of people getting behind the wheel under the influence as they may not realise how much alcohol they’ve had. “Driving the next morning while unknowingly still over the limit is also a key factor, especially for those who may have early starting times.”
