Fury over Little Mix star’s inking

OUTRAGED anti-violence campaigners have slammed Little Mix star Jesy Nelson for getting a gun tattoo on her chest.

The 27-year-old singer showed off her latest inking online to her 4.5 million Instagram followers yesterday.

But Patsy McKie, who lost her son in a shooting in Manchester, said that stars such as Jesy should think harder about the tattoos they get. She said: “People in the media eye should think more about how young people are influenced by what they do, rather than what makes them look good or makes them look pretty. “They need to think about how it may affect young people.

“They’re being selfish, they aren’t thinking.” Patsy’s son, Dorrie, was gunned down in Moss Side in 1999.

His killer was never brought to justice, but two men found with a gun used in the attack were jailed for possession of a firearm. Jesy shot to fame in 2011 when she won TV talent show The X Factor, with bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards.

The singer – who was born in and still lives in Romford, east London – now has a total of 16 tattoos, including the gun. She also has the word “icon” inked on her forearm, as well as a “Q” and a “heart” under her ear.

Other stars known to have gun tattoos include Rihanna, left. Jesy’s followers blasted her for the artwork, with one saying: “Cute, but why would anyone want a gun tattoo in today’s world. Really?” Some leapt to her defence, however. One wrote: “Excluding all the bad things guns have created, they represent honour, strength, and power.”
