Now solo, she told me: “I love Little Mix they are super f***ing dope and they are killing it over here. A NEW film using the songs of Prince is in the works – but the late Purple One is not thought to be the subject of the film, out next year. Instead his songs will form a brand new narrative, much like Abba did with Mamma Mia.

Prince’s estate consider the Purple Rain movie to be the closest thing to a Prince biopic. Change can be a good thing, I’m on a different label now, too in the UK so it’s natural.”But she still has love for Simon Cowell. She told me: “He’s definitely a huge part of my personal story and huge part of a lot of people’s story. I’m grateful forever for the opportunity because he’s also the reason why I even auditioned for the X Factor to begin with.”
