WHAT’S HOT TO WATCH TODAY

- MIKE WARD

CANDIDATE Sarah Ann is well into the festive spirit in THE APPRENTICE (9pm, BBC1).

The teams’ latest task is to create their own brand of Christmas choccies, and Sarah Ann has been given the role of choosing flavours.

“I want to do one or two with alcohol,” she tells the guy at the factory, where various samples are laid out for her to try.

“I’ll remind myself of what port tastes like,” she begins, taking a quick sip. “That’s nice. Very Christmassy.

And then: “I’ll have a little try of the vanilla bourbon as well…

“Phwaaahh! Cor!” she splutters. “Hairs on my chest!”

And then: “A little bit of rum…” For the rum tasting, Sarah actually uses a pipette, the expert having warned her it’s concentrated.

“One drop at a time,” he advises. “One, two…three!” goes Sarah, “for good luck!”

And then: “I’m gonna have a little dot of Pina Colada,” she decides. “I think I put a bit too much in there, but never mind…”

And what does she eventually conclude from this rigorous taste-testing session?

“My favourite one is a bottle of apple cider.” ELSEWHERE, WORLD’S WEIRDEST HOMES (9pm, Channel 4) meets a Dutch guy who lives on an ark and a Brazilian who lives in a sandcastle.

There’s also 16-year-old You Tube star Rashed Belhasa, AKA Money Kicks, whose Dubai home has its own private zoo.

And guess what? Rashed loves fashion so much that he’s named his lions, tigers etc. after top designers.

So, yes, there’s Versace, Gucci and George at Asda, although I may have made one of those up.
