KLOPP RUN COSTS £8K

- By DAVID ANDERSON

JURGEN KLOPP says he doesn’t regret running onto the pitch to celebrate Liverpool’s 96th-minute winner in the Merseyside derby.

The Anfield boss accepted the FA misconduct charge and has been fined £8,000.

He admits he enjoyed the celebration and says such emotional outbursts are part of his make-up.

“No, I don’t regret it in a way, but it should not have happened,” said Klopp. “I did it. I broke a rule, I pay for it. That’s how it is.”

Klopp said he had not run onto the pitch since he was in charge of Mainz

14 years ago, adding:

“There were 14 years between the first one and the last one.

“It cannot happen anymore, at least for the next 14 years.”

Everton boss Marco

Silva supported Klopp and said he should not have been fined.

Emotion

“He shouldn’t be, but it is the FA who decides,” he said. “Now I have seen it, I don’t think it matters.

“The emotion at the end of that game was normal. It was emotional, not something he planned.”

Liverpool travel to Burnley tonight with Klopp denying Mo Salah is struggling.

He has managed nine goals this season compared to 15 at the same stage last season.

Klopp took Salah off 15 minutes from time on Sunday, but insisted yesterday that now is not the right time to judge the Egyptian.

“I don’t have to repeat that,” he said. “How people judge it, you or whoever, I have no influence on. That’s how it is. It’s a free world and we can judge things however.

“It’s all good. I think he has scored seven so far in the league. Who has scored most? Aubameyang? And he scored twice in the last game, so nobody is 15 goals away from him.

“The season is like it is and we all have to start new. You can take nothing for granted and think things will be easy.

“He could have scored more with the chances he’s had, but there is nothing else to say.

“Just try and get yourself ready for the next game, try to do your best and then after the season you’ll get judged, not during the season.”
