NICK Knowles has vowed to donate all royalties from his surprise chart hit to charity after “making people suffer” with his singing.
The 56-year-old rocketed to number one on iTunes after presenter Chris Moyles launched a campaign on his Radio X Breakfast Show.
He said the news of the hit “made me laugh my man boobs off ”. And he thanked gobby host Moyles for his help and promised to give something back.
He said: “When I got my letters from my boys in the Jungle, I thought they were winding me up about my album.
“And then when I came out and actually it turned out to be true,
I could not believe it.”
And he added: “If there are any royalties that come out of it, they’re all going to go to charities, the military charities
I support.
“When I put the album out, it was clear fairly soon that people had suffered enough, so I’d better give the money to charity.”

Music bosses at Universal were even thought to be ready to give the go-ahead to a second album after the first’s belated success.
Nick, who was eliminated from the show on Thursday, said yesterday: “As if people weren’t suffering enough already, they had me singing as well.
“There were great singers in there, people from the West End and actresses that had been trained to sing. Everybody was joining in so I was joining in too.”
He added: “To come out to find out that (he had been at number one) was fantastic and hilarious all at the same time. A fantastic laugh, it made me literally laugh my moobs off when I came out.
“It’s bonkers, you don’t need to download it, you can find it in any bargain bin for 99p.”
One viewer had tweeted “Nick is full-on David
Brent now”, referring to the hopeless musical efforts of the Ricky Gervais character in The Office.
Friends say Nick could now pack away the guitar for good.
A pal said last night: “Nick is a proud man. On the outside he will appear fine but he takes criticism as hard as anyone.
“It’s a shame but I’d imagine Nick will go back to focusing on his telly career from now on.”
Meanwhile, Nick has promised never to appear just in his “budgie smugglers” on TV again.
Nick stunned viewers – and campmate Emily Atack – by stripping to just a pair of red pants to do chores.
He said: “Can I publicly apologise for the red budgie smugglers? It was literally all I had left to wear.”
The DIY action man revealed he can’t pick a Jungle winner. “I want either H (Harry) who is just the most extraordinary person, or I want Fleur, who is amazing and a beautiful person.
“I’d like James (McVey) to win it too but I know he wants to get out because he’s desperately missing his girlfriend.” Picture: REX
