Tearful Holly nearly quit over insect bite
I’M A Celebrity co-host Holly Willoughby burst into tears and wanted to leave the show after being bitten by a green ant.
The scenes were never aired to spare her blushes.
Holly, who fronted the ITV show this year for the first time with Declan Donnelly, revealed how she fled camp while filming a Bushtucker Trial.
The presenter said she freaked during a challenge at The Jungle Colosseum which saw Fleur East and Sair Khan covered in biting green ants.
She said: “This didn’t make it to air but I actually ran out. One ant bit me and I burst into tears.
“I ran out of the Colosseum and there were the red curtains and I said: ‘Help me!’
“I was so embarrassed. Then I just said: ‘Right. You’ve got to pull yourself together now.
“You have to stay and see it through.’”
Holly spoke via Skype to her This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield yesterday from the I’m A Celeb wrap party, where the cast were all boozing and letting their hair down.
She said: “I had the best time. It’s like nothing I’ve ever done before.”
The booze-loving host held up a cool glass of margarita and Phil joked: “We’ve only got four minutes with her... she’ll be on her knees in a moment.” Holly also revealed how she took her three children – Chester, Belle and Harry – into the Aussie camp site after the show finished filming to let them mooch around and also try out the dunny and hammocks.
