It may seem odd that a processor can make your camera better but Qualcomm is making big claims about the 855’s photography credentials. The firm says that its refreshed chip sets new standards for capturing stunning photos and videos with better colour and faster effects.

No more rear fingerprint scanners

The Snapdragon 855 is the first mobile platform to support the new Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor, the world’s first commercial ultrasonic fingerprint solution, which will allow this scanner to be placed under the display.

You’ll get more battery

Qualcomm has officially confirmed that its Snapdragon 855 will offer users “long-lasting battery life”.

Two companies have already committed to the Snapdragon 855 with OnePlus and Samsung confirming their next smartphones will feature this latest technology.
