Howe has Wil power
EDDIE HOWE has issued a hands-off warning to Chelsea over Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
The Blues are confident of completing a £30m deal for England international Wilson (below) in January.
But Cherries boss Howe said: “Callum is focusing on his football and we are not anticipating losing any players in January we don’t want to. “Callum has had an excellent season to this point. He seems very happy, he has a spring in his step, he is buzzing around the training ground and there is a very good feel about him.
“I want him to continue to enjoy it because if he continues to play with a smile, that means he is scoring goals.” Wilson, 26, has hit 47 goals in 121 league games since joining from Coventry in 2014 for £3m.
He is set to return from a hamstring injury at Wolves today and Howe said: “Time can always play games with transfer fees.
“At the time, the fee was discussed as a lot of money which it was and still is.
“But when you compare it to fees now it looks a snip, doesn’t it?” Eighth-placed Bournemouth have lost four of their last five matches ahead of their trip to Molineux.
Howe said: “We cannot afford for our confidence levels to be damaged in anyway. “With our league position we should be going into every game full of confidence.”
