NUNO: LET’S KEEP IT REAL

Unlike fake hero ‘Kaiser’

- By DAVE ARMITAGE

NUNO Espirito Santo says his new hero is a womanising, trickster who conned himself a 20-year career without playing a game!

Wolves boss Nuno is brushing up his English by reading the extraordinary story ‘Kaiser! The Greatest Footballer Never to play Football.’

The book (right) charts the life of Brazilian Carlos Raposo who conned clubs into signing him then got ‘injured’ to avoid being found out.

Nuno said: “I’m trying to improve my English, so I watch only English TV shows to get things right and learn some slang. Also I’m reading Kaiser! It’s brilliant.”

Raposo may have been a fake but Nuno’s men are proving to be the real deal going into today’s home clash with Bournemouth. Back-to-back wins against Chelsea and Newcastle saw Wolves up to 10th in the table. “Sometimes, people forget that we are new just up from the Championship,” he said.

“It’s the first season for everybody here, including me and we can’t afford to forget where we came from.

“We’re having to prove ourselves every day but it’s about taking the challenges as they come and we want to compete with the best.”

Nuno, who confirmed Wolves have the first option to buy four-goal Mexican striker Raul Jimenez from Benfica, has also been reading up on Cherries boss Eddie Howe.

He said: “I am aware of the big picture of what Eddie has done there and it’s fantastic.

“They are a very good team and he’s an excellent manager.

“We know it will be a very tough game but to go into it with two straight wins is massive for us and we want to continue with it.”
