Red carpet!

-

SAUSAGE roll warbler LadBaby has won the fiercest Christmas No1 battle in a decade.

The YouTube sensation’s song We Built This City pipped US star Ava Max’s Sweet But Psycho by just 18,500 sales to land the coveted festive top spot.

LadBaby – real name Mark Hoyle – altered the lyrics to Starship’s 1985 hit to pay tribute to his beloved sausage rolls and donated the proceeds to foodbank charity, The Trussell Trust. Celebrating with his wife Roxanne and two sons, Mark, 31, told the Official Charts: “Thank you everybody in the UK who has got a sausage roll to the top.

“I can’t thank you enough not only for downloading the song but for raising money for such an incredible charity.”

It’s the first novelty song to make Christmas No1 since Bob The Builder’s Can We Fix It? in 2000.

Now Mark is targeting a stint on I’m A Celebrity!

The dad-of-two told me: “My phone is ready and waiting for that phone call, if it comes from the Jungle I absolutely would.

“I don’t know if I’d ever do Dancing On Ice or anything like that but I would sit in a Jungle for a couple of weeks.”

“And I think Rox would be up for that as all the other halves get put up in five-star hotels, she’d be getting pampered and I’d be eating a kangaroo’s a**e.”

Meanwhile, runner-up Ava Max told me: “I’m in LA during Christmas break and we will be finishing the album.”
