BEFORE you laugh at children who believe in Santa Claus, remember there are adults who still believe in Jose Mourinho.

The Man Utd top brass finally gave up on him this week. Just before the news broke there were reports that the board had backed the cocky Portuguese boss. But I reckon that was probably just a large bet on him being sacked before the new year.

Mourinho received a suspicious letter in the post after his side’s Liverpool defeat – a note from a United fan thanking him for their style of play this season.

Just last week I asked my barber for a Mourinho-style haircut – not much up front, nothing at the sides and a mess at the back.

The not so Special One’s tactics were his ultimate downfall. He still hasn’t managed to leave the United training ground due to a bus parked in front of the exit.

I did feel sorry for him. Most weeks he only had seven fit defenders to fill his 10 defensive positions. Jose apparently said in

2004 he would destroy Utd – 14 years on he has done a great job at attempting it.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, left, has his work cut out steadying the ship of mutinous stars. But I reckon he will get them on course. So have a bet on Utd stuffing Cardiff tomorrow then winning the next three league games. BETTING (Paddy Power) MAN UTD to beat CARDIFF HT/FT –

13-10 OLE to win first four Premier League games in charge – 7-2
