Solskjaer can’t lose

- By ROB COLE

NEIL WARNOCK believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer “can’t lose” in his new role as Manchester United boss.

Warnock pits his 1,500-plus matches as manager against the Norwegian at Cardiff City Stadium today.

The clash takes the ‘BabyFaced Assassin’ back to the ground where he cut his teeth as a Premier League manager.

Solskjaer took Cardiff from 17th in the Premier League to 17th in the Championship before getting the sack.

But Warnock reckons his new interim role at United should be a good fit.

“From what I’ve heard Ole is a nice lad and I think it’s the best job he’ll have in his life. He can’t lose,” said Warnock.

“He’ll still be on cloud nine. It’s a tremendous feeling, managing a club you love.

Amazing

“He knows the fans and he was amazing as a player for them. I can’t see how he loses and they should win the next four games.

“I wasn’t surprised at his appointment. I think it needed somebody who’s been there before and he’s a legend really.

“It’s a different type of management with Sir Alex’s man, Mike Phelan, coming back in. Ole and Mike will know the environment.”

Cardiff have won four of their last five games at home but Warnock dismissed the notion United are there for the taking after Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

He said: “If you believe this is a good time to be playing United, you’re telling porkies! “I think it’s the worst time. “He (Solskjaer) has got some great players there and I bet he can’t believe his luck, with the likes of Rashford, Lingard, Martial and Pobga all with things to prove.

“United haven’t been able to get it right over the last three or four managers and I’ll be surprised if there’s not a reaction from some players.”
