“This is a good moment of the year for the club. I was not here at the end of last season but I feel that everyone is feeling we are making a change and we must keep that change.

“I know what happened last season and you cannot have a good season without everyone working together.

“That is the owner, the staff, the players and the fans. This is a good moment for everyone and we must keep it.”

West Ham face Watford today and are likely to be unchanged from the side which beat Fulham, although striker Lucas Perez will be on the bench if he can shake off a foot injury.

Pablo Zabaleta will start again at right-back with Pellegrini eager to keep the 33-year-old after his contract expires at the end of the season.

Pellegrini said: “He’s not so old. He gives his all in every game and he’s a leader. I hope he can continue here in the way he is playing now.” WATFORD manager Javi Gracia has ordered special training to stop his side shipping late goals.

The Hornets were coasting at 3-0 against lowly Cardiff last Saturday but almost threw it away by conceding twice in the last 10 minutes.

And they were set for a 2-1 win at Everton in their previous match before Lucas Digne’s 96th-minute free-kick.

The Watford boss (inset) said: “We have to improve. I’ve spoken about it in training and we worked on our defensive system because we need to improve little things. “We need to know how we have conceded goals and improve our position on the pitch.

“It’s collective – the strikers and the midfield have to defend better.” Watford have conceded 11 goals in five games ahead of today’s trip to in-form West Ham and they have not kept a clean sheet since beating Huddersfield 3-0 at home on October 27.

Gracia said: “We have conceded two, two, two, two and three in our recent games. We can improve that.”
