ROB’S RILED BY CITY JOY

- By JEREMY CROSS

ANDY ROBERTSON has accused Manchester City of celebrating their win over Liverpool like they had just won the title.

City are on cloud nine after the thrilling 2-1 triumph over Jurgen Klopp’s men at the Etihad on Thursday.

Goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane inflicted the first league defeat of the season on the Reds.

The champions would have been 10 points behind leaders Liverpool if they had lost and Pep Guardiola said before the game that would have left City’s title chances dead and buried.

Now the gap is down to four points and

Guardiola, his staff and players showed how much the win meant to them at the final whistle.

But left-back Robertson

(inset) reckons City went over the top and warned them the win changes nothing because the Reds will fight to the death to claim their first league title since 1990.

The Scotland ace said:

“Credit goes to them, but we have to remember we are still four points clear.

“It doesn’t change anything and it wouldn’t have if we’d won. Of course it would have been nice to be 10 points clear of them.

“But we couldn’t have won it here and we have not lost it either.

“You saw their reaction at the end, they are obviously delighted. But they’ve not won the league either.

“We’ll fight right to the death. We are four points clear and they’ve closed the gap. Now it’s about how we react. It’s a new experience for all of us but we can use it to our advantage and look forward to the games ahead.”

Robertson has urged the Reds to show their bottle and come back fighting, starting with Monday’s FA Cup clash at Wolves.

The Reds star added: “It’s disappointing, a first defeat of the season. But now we have to dust ourselves down.

“Nothing has been won or lost so we move on. It’s all about how we bounce back. “We need to move on and forget about it. Now we’ve got the FA Cup and then a massive game away to Brighton.”

Klopp could name 16-year-old defender Ki-Jana Hoever in his squad for the game at Wolves on Monday.

The Dutch full-back, signed from Ajax, has impressed since being promoted to train with the first team last month.
