Brexit’s in 500m chats a day
EURO SHOW: Benedict THE word Brexit is uttered more than 500million times a day in the UK.
And the average Brit has chatted about leaving the EU for more than 122 hours since the no vote in 2016, says a study to promote Channel 4 drama Brexit: The Uncivil War.
The show, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Leave campaign director Dominic Cummings, airs tonight.
The study found that the word Brexit is mentioned
507m times a day with 92m full conversations about it every day in the UK, which works out at about two chats for every Brit every single day.
A total of 67% of those quizzed said that speaking about Brexit raised their stress levels.
A spokesman for Channel
4 said: “With the average conversation about Brexit taking up almost eight minutes, Brits have spent more than five full days each talking about Brexit since the referendum.”
The top five most discussed individuals on Twitter in relation to Brexit were: Theresa May, Nigel Farage, Jeremy Corbyn, Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg.
