Klopp stars won’t crumble

“If you point a finger, though, then it’s even bigger than before you spoke about it, so there’s no reason for doing it.

“Nothing happened. Every team in the world can lose at Man City.

“So we spoke about why, what we did, what happened, what we could have done better – but that’s how we do it always.

“But there is nothing on top to talk about. It is only for people who are insecure and say, ‘This has happened and now they are going in completely the other direction, they have lost belief’.

“But we have to prove that is not the case, we have to prove it on the pitch, how we have done it so far, we have to prove it again.”

Liverpool’s defeat at City ended a 20-game unbeaten run in the league for the Reds. Then a much-changed side were far from at their best as Wolves dumped them out of the FA Cup on Monday.

But Klopp insists their confidence won’t be hit by the bad results as they travel to Brighton today with a four-point lead at the top of the table. He said: “It’s a normal situation, it’s still very positive.

“It is important how many more points we have than City only at the end of the season.

“At the moment it is only an informatio­n, not more, so that’s why I say it is all good, but the next game we have to play.

“Did we win it already? No. Can we win it? Yes. Will it be easy? No.

“No problem, it is a normal Premier League game away. They are all difficult.

“So let’s try our best. There is no reason to go there feeling less confident.”
