Nathan Has it all now

- By ADRIAN KAJUMBA

TEAM MAN: Redmond RALPH HASENHUTTL believes he’s seeing a new Nathan Redmond.

Redmond has caught the eye since Hasenhuttl’s arrival last month.

The winger’s double at Derby should have earned Saints an FA Cup fourth-round place but the Championship side forced a replay at St Mary’s tonight.

It is seeing Redmond become a team player that has impressed Hasenhuttl, especially in 10-man Saints’ win over Leicester on Saturday.

Hasenhuttl said: “The main part was that he saw it is not always fun to play up front.

“It is also sometimes hard work, especially in the last game. He knew that it would be very difficult to play his game that he likes after the red card for Yan Valery.

“What he did in this game was defending his own box and clearing the ball – that is a new Nathan Redmond.

“It was not cool for him. It was really hard work and that is what I want to see.”

Asked if Redmond has become less selfish, Hasenhuttl added: “That’s a good word. I agree.”

Derby boss Frank Lampard is eyeing another Premier League scalp after sending Manchester United packing on penalties this season in the Carabao Cup.

He said: “We have shown a lot of character against Premier League opposition this year in the Carabao Cup.

“We need to bottle that and use it more consistently. You have to have a template and strive for something.

“At United, we showed the complete package that night. It was energy, aggression, quality. It is another opportunity for the players to show they have ability to match Premier League teams.”
