Jihadis in ‘kafir’ cleaver horror

POLICE who raided an Islamic State terror cell seized a meat cleaver with “unbeliever” in Arabic etched into the blade.

The sinister-looking weapon, emblazoned with the slur ‘Kafir’, was recovered in a joint operation by counter-terror police and MI5 officers.

Kafir is an insulting term used by Islamic extremists to describe people who are not Muslims.

The blade was found in the possession of three Isis jihadis who were planning to carry out an atrocity.

Calling themselves the Three Musketeers on an encrypted app, the fanatics were plotting a Lee Rigby-style terror attack on a police or military target in Birmingham.

Naweed Ali, 30, Khobaib Hussain, 26, and Mohibur Rahman, 34, were each jailed for life in 2017 after being found guilty of preparing acts of terrorism following an Old Bailey trial.

The knife was among a number of chilling items seized from terrorists by West Midlands Police counter-terror officers.

Among others was an axe-like weapon known as a war hammer, with Isaiah 48:22 carved into the handle.

It refers to a passage in the Bible which reads: “There is no peace, says the Lord, for the wicked.”

The weapon was found at a property occupied by former British soldier and neo-Nazi Mikko Vehvilainen, 34, in Brecon, Powys, mid-Wales.

The far-right extremist was jailed for eight years after he was also found with an arsenal of knives, crossbows and guns.
