FAMILY TIES: Harington GAME Of Thrones bosses have revealed the first images from season eight as fans prepare for the show’s finale.

The six-episode season will air on Sky Atlantic in April, completing the saga of who will rule Westeros.

Fans have had to wait almost two years since the end of the previous season.

Makers HBO have been careful to avoid spoilers for their most-viewed show and the new pictures reveal little beyond the characters who will be returning.

Kit Harington, who has been a familiar face since the first season in 2011, returns as Jon Snow.

Season seven closed with a shock revelation about his character’s family ties.

Lena Headey will reprise her role as scheming queen Cersei Lannister, while Emilia Clarke is back as silver-haired Queen Daenerys Targaryen.

And Maisie Williams, 21, will return as Arya Stark.

Other returning stars include Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister and Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister.

Season eight begins in the UK on April 15.
