Solanke returns to haunt former team-mates
A LIVERPOOL win over Leicester last week would have seen them climb seven points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
Today they will step out at Anfield in second place and a defeat would give their rivals the chance to pull three points clear of them.
In short, this is a huge weekend on Merseyside for Jurgen Klopp’s men in red.
Luckily, they welcome a Bournemouth side who have lost three games on the bounce against the Reds, conceding 11 goals in the process without reply. And while Eddie Howe’s men have impressed in patches this season, their record against the top six is horrifying.
Eight games so far this season have brought seven defeats and 22 goals have been conceded.
It is no wonder then that title hopefuls Liverpool are just 1-5 for the win, with Bournemouth being the biggest-priced side in the division this weekend by some distance at 11-1.
Could Dominic Solanke come back to haunt his former club and hamper their championship challenge?
It is 4-1 that he scores at the top six this season. And with a record even worse than Bournemouth’s, they have shipped a whopping 26 goals in those matches – which is more than three a game.
With that in mind, it is hard not to back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United side – with goals coming from all areas – to win and find the net on three or more occasions at 5-4.
