Lee fears Blacklash

HOTSHOT Che Adams is closing in on a record held by Birmingham’s greatest-ever player.

The striker, 22, sets his sights on QPR today trying to hit the net in his sixth successive league game.

That would put him just one off equalling the all-time club record held by Brum legend Trevor Francis.

Adams’ sparkling form this campaign has not gone unnoticed with Burnley having a £12m bid knocked back in January, while Southampton were also keen.

Brum’s chance of making the play-off places hinge largely on Adams staying among the goals as he bids to become the first Blue to score 20 in a league campaign since 1995.

Boss Garry Monk said: “I don’t really care about all that myself. Of course I hope he does it – and I am sure he will.

“But my only focus is on Che performing and doing the work for the team.

“Che knows that, they all know that – goals and assists are the benefit of what comes with all of that.

“I don’t really care who scores the goals. The work Che does for the team is the most important.” LEE JOHNSON has warned his Bristol City players not to be complacent when they visit Blackburn today.

The Robins go into the game on the back of seven straight wins, five of them in the league, and an unbeaten run stretching back 13 matches.

That has sent City surging into the play-off zone and the fifth round of the FA Cup.

But Johnson said: “You are only as good as your last game in as tough a division as the Championship.

“I don’t mind our supporters getting ahead of themselves and partying, but my job is to keep my players’ feet firmly on the ground.

“We mustn’t be complacent because of past results. We need to take our A-game.”

City beat Rovers 4-1 at Ashton Gate in September but Johnson is expecting a tougher test this afternoon.

He added: “Blackburn are a good side who are led by a good manager. They are very organised and it will be a very good Championship game.”
