EDDIE HOWE has told Asmir Begovic his Bournemouth future is in his own hands.

The Cherries boss had talks with the keeper after he demanded to know why he was dropped for 38-year-old Artur Boruc.

Speaking ahead of today’s trip to Liverpool, Howe (inset) said: “The future will be dictated by Asmir, not by me.

“I signed the player, I like the player and have got a lot of respect for Asmir as a guy and a player, but that will be dictated by him.

“What has happened will be a normal occurrence at every Premier

League club.

“I have had a lot of discussions with the players who are not playing.

“There has been no bust-up, no dispute, just a chat and a talk and I am very happy with where Asmir is at. He has trained excellently and that is the most important thing.

“I try to have that daily contact with all my players, that is very important.

“I try to feed back to my players regularly on how they are performing, where I am at with their game and try and help them on to the next stage. “If you don’t get that disappointment from not playing I would question that as well. You cannot have everything perfect in this situation.

“You want to see a real drive from the players and a determination to get into the team, but you also want them to act as a team player and Asmir has done that. “Artur supported Asmir and now Asmir is supporting Artur.” Howe revealed he meditates for 10 minutes every morning to help keep a clear head. He said: “The mental side is huge and whether you meditate or take yourself away to calm your mind down before playing it is hugely important, even before training.

“It is something we encourage the players to do and is something I have tried this season. We have various people who come in and talk to us, experts in different fields.”
