No room to be flaky
THE military has faced a recruitment crisis for years.
Our Armed Forces have consistently failed to fill the ever-diminishing ranks.
So it’s understandable why military top brass have looked for radical alternatives to stop the rot.
Their “snowflake” recruitment ads were a perfect example.
This “alternative approach” was roundly mocked when it was unveiled.
But they appear to have had the last laugh after it attracted double the number of recruits.
Every large organisation needs to move with the times and the military is no exception.
What might have attracted previous generations may not be as alluring to current ones.
There’s nothing wrong with promoting different aspects of military life to attract new blood.
If push comes to shove, they will be required to put their lives on the line.
That might not seem so attractive to sensitive millennials. But it is a fact previous generations had no difficulty understanding.
