SEX attacks at UK railway stations are up 80% in the past five years, worrying new figures show.

The data also reveals London’s Liverpool Street is the worst station in Britain for sexual assaults.

And attacks on the Tube have doubled since 2014, with 3,166 offences.

Figures from the British Transport Police show how offending has increased at stations around the country from 2014.

The worst 10 locations were all in London, with half of those being underground stations.

Outside the capital, Leeds station saw the most sexual assaults, closely followed by Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly.

The RMT union argues guards are vital to stopping sexual assaults on trains.
