Warnock: Keeping us up would top the lot
NEIL WARNOCK claims keeping Cardiff up this season would be the biggest achievement of his life after clocking up his 100th game in the Premier League.
The 70-year-old has a record eight promotions but has never managed to keep a team in the top flight.
Saturday’s emotionally-charged win took Cardiff out of the bottom three as the club registered consecutive top-flight wins for the first time since 1962.
But Warnock said: “We are still favourites to get relegated and we will still be favourites even after this weekend – you can understand why.
“We are trying to prove everybody wrong. It would be the biggest achievement of my whole life if we stayed up but we know there is a long way to go yet.”
Asked if he should be manager of the year if he keeps Cardiff in the top flight, Warnock added: “I should win two, they should make it a double! But it’s a long way off, let’s not get carried away.”
Warnock’s Sheffield United side were relegated in 2006, while he was sacked by QPR in 2012 and lasted only four months at Crystal Palace in 2014.
He said: “Circumstances have always been difficult for me when I got here and this season is no different, just slightly different circumstances.
“It has never really been meant to be. The clubs I have been able to take up, for one reason or another, have not been able to invest.
