BRAWL SOURS FLOWERS WIN

-

SOLIHULL Moors boss Tim Flowers was left counting the cost of his side’s win at Ebbsfleet that was marred by a mass brawl and four red cards.

His men moved up to second place in the National League thanks to Adi Yussuf’s 51st-minute strike.

But the game ended in chaos after a stoppage time fight involving both sets of players that resulted in red cards for Solihull’s Luke Maxwell and Ebbsfleet’s Bagasan Graham.

Home midfielder Dean Rance then collected a second yellow for diving and Solihull’s Danny Wright walked for an off-the-ball incident.

Flowers said: “The chaos descended and it became a bit of a bear pit.

“The sad thing for us is that we’ve got a game against Aldershot on Tuesday and two suspensions.”

Victory saw Flowers side cut Leyton Orient’s lead at the top to a point after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Hartlepool.

Wrexham moved up to third after making a winning start under Bryan Hughes. Sub Stuart Beavon sealed a 1-0 victory against Dagenham and Redbridge.

Hughes said: “We could have made it a lot easier for ourselves, but the players did what was asked of them.

“I wanted to see that togetherness, that unified approach. We defended like trojans at times.”
