Hot Scott is Hoops hero
SCOTT SINCLAIR’S hat-trick kept Celtic on track for a ‘treble-treble’.
The Hoops winger helped Brendan Rodgers’ men cruise past St Johnstone 5-0 to book their place in tonight’s Scottish Cup quarter-final draw.
With Scott Brown and James Forrest also weighing in yesterday, Celtic have now won 24 consecutive domestic cup games under boss Rodgers.
He said: “We did the job required. There’s always pressure to win at a big club. But you also have to earn the right to win.”
Junior side Auchinleck Talbot’s Cup run was ended by Hearts, who ran out 4-0 winners. Christophe Berra, Demetri Mitchell, Steven Maclean and Aidan Keena ensured there was no upset at Tynecastle.
Aberdeen also avoided a shock by seeing off Queen of the South 4-1.
Dons boss Derek McInnes said: “People may have thought we would wipe the floor with them, but it’s never like that.”
Rangers will have to get past Kilmarnock in a replay in order to join them. James Tavernier’s penalty miss on Saturday means the Premiership teams will have to do it all again at Ibrox on February 20.
