A great Amy Adams adds a touch of fizz to this slightly flat rom-com set in a movie version of Ireland. She plays a frustrated romantic who intends to take advantage of an Irish tradition by proposing to her boyfriend on February 29. But after a series of mishaps she loses her boyfriend and ends up travelling with Matthew Goode’s dreamy barman. You can probably guess the rest. OBLIVION *** (2013) Film4, 6.35pm

In this brainy sci-fi thriller, the human race has relocated to one of Saturn’s moon after an alien attack turned Earth into a wasteland. Tom Cruise’s repairman has been left behind to tend to the machines that are salvaging the remaining resources. There’s some decent action but the plot twists are derived from much better films.
