A BUTCHER suspected of abducting student Libby Squire appeared in court accused of performing a sex act in the street where she lived.

Pawel Relowicz, 24, was charged with outraging public decency near the 21-year-old’s home 12 days before she vanished after a night out with friends.

He was also accused of stealing sex toys, knickers, condoms and photos in a raid on the home of one of Libby’s fellow University of Hull students the weekend before her disappearance.

The married dad of two was further charged with pinching three more sex toys from a shared student house yards from his.

And he was accused of committing an act of voyeurism in a nearby street.

Bench

He appeared at Hull magistrates where he pleaded not guilty to three burglaries, outraging public decency and “observing a person doing a private act” without their consent in December 2017.

The bacon factory worker was remanded in custody until a hearing at Hull Crown Court on March 11.

Police said he “remains under investigation” over Libby’s disappearance.

The philosophy and religion student vanished on January 31 after pals put her in a taxi home when she was refused admission to the city’s Welly nightclub for being drunk.

It dropped her off at her digs in Hull, but instead of going inside she was seen sitting on a bench 200 yards away at 11.45pm.

Police have searched waterways, outbuildings, bins and waste ground.

They are studying CCTV which appears to show a woman getting into a car near the spot where she was last seen at 12.09am.

Relowicz, who moved to the UK from Poland five years ago, was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of her abduction.

He entered his pleas via a Polish interpreter during a 10-minute hearing.

Yesterday a police van was outside a property. Officers were seen entering with infrared cameras.

Remanding Relowicz in custody district Judge Fred Rutherford told him: “These matters are too serious for this court and they are sent to the crown court.’’
